About the PMEE Project
The PMEE Project grew from observations made in everyday care — and from the conviction that something worth noticing deserves to be understood.
Where this began
The PMEE Project began with a simple observation: that some experiences seemed to matter to people living with dementia in a way that others did not. That a particular piece of music could change the atmosphere of a room. That a familiar task could bring a person back to themselves. That a moment of genuine connection could persist in some form even when the memory of it had gone.
These observations raised a question: what makes an experience personally meaningful to this person? And a related question: how do we know?
The PMEE Project is an attempt to take those questions seriously — to develop a way of thinking, observing and learning that puts the person's experience at the centre.
"Something worth noticing deserves to be understood."
